چکیده

Unfortunately, the original version of this article [1] contained an error. The correct paragraph can be found below: The calculation of number of patients was not correct. It was wrote the non-inferiority margin as 0.1 mm. But it was 0.19 mm in an original document. Non-inferiority margin in previous coronary intervention studies has been set between 0.1 ~ 0.2 mm. The 0.19 mm is not irrelevant in view of the current trial standard.

Comparison of a drug-eluting balloon first and then bare metal stent with a drug-eluting stent for treatment of de novo lesions: study protocol of a randomized controlled trial

BACKGROUND The use of a drug-eluting balloon for the treatment of de novo coronary artery lesions remains to be evaluated. A previous trial in patients with stable and unstable angina comparing a bare metal stent mounted on a drug-eluting balloon with a sirolimus-eluting stent failed to meet the prespecified non-inferiority criteria versus the sirolimus-eluting stent. The stent struts of a bare...

INtimal hyPerplasia evAluated by oCT in de novo COROnary lesions treated by drug-eluting balloon and bare-metal stent (IN-PACT CORO): study protocol for a randomized controlled trial

BACKGROUND Neointimal hyperplasia plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of in-stent restenosis in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions. Drug-eluting balloons are a promising tool to prevent restenosis after coronary angioplasty. Moreover, an increased knowledge of the pathophysiology of restenosis my help improve therapeutic strategies. METHODS/DESIGN We present the desi...

Comparison of Drug-Eluting Balloon Followed by Bare Metal Stent with Drug-Eluting Stent for Treatment of de Novo Lesions: Randomized, Controlled, Single-Center Clinical Trial

The combined use of a drug-eluting balloon (DEB) and a bare metal stent (BMS) for the treatment of de novo non-small vessel coronary artery diseases (CAD) remains to be evaluated. We investigated the efficacy of a sequential treatment using a DEB together with a BMS implantation in comparison to a zotarolimus-eluting stent (ZES). This study was a prospective, randomized, open-label study. We de...

Rationale and design for the PAINT randomized trial.

BACKGROUND We describe the rationale and design for the 'PercutAneous INTervention with biodegradable-polymer based paclitaxel-eluting or sirolimus-eluting versus bare stents for de novo coronary lesions - PAINT trial'. OBJECTIVES To evaluate two novel formulations of paclitaxel-eluting stent and the sirolimus-eluting stent against a stent with the same metallic structure but without polymer ...

5-year clinical outcomes after sirolimus-eluting stent implantation insights from a patient-level pooled analysis of 4 randomized trials comparing sirolimus-eluting stents with bare-metal stents.

OBJECTIVES Five-year clinical follow-up has been scheduled per protocol by the 4 Cypher (Cordis/Johnson & Johnson, Warren, New Jersey) sirolimus-eluting stent (SES) versus bare-metal stent (BMS) randomized trials. BACKGROUND A delayed arterial healing response after drug-eluting stent implantation has raised concerns about the long-term safety of drug-eluting stents. METHODS In a pooled ana...
